Ages 0–6: when words settle in (in Hungarian and in English)

A golden window for vocabulary. Between 0–6 the sound, rhythm and structure of language embed at a deep level; regular shared reading measurably grows vocabulary and comprehension.

Small steps, big growth. “Dialogic” reading (pointing, naming, asking back) is especially effective — it boosts active vocabulary and self‑expression.

Two languages, more hooks. Context from the story, the picture and the melody returns in two languages; the familiar Hungarian content helps “pull through” the English (cross‑language transfer).

No need for a classroom feel. Five to eight minutes of shared bedtime reading is enough. Small, consistent steps build both the Hungarian and the English vocabulary.
